dc.description.abstract | Carpospores and tetraspores ofHypnea cervicornis J, Agardh have been cultivated in the fieid. These developed intoadult fronds in thiee months. This implies that where nutrients or other environmental factors are not limiting, it ispossible to raise four harvestable crops of Hypnea from spores per year, Since carpospores gave rise to tetrasporo-phytes and tetraspores produced gametophytes, it was concluded that the life history of the species is of the Poly-siphonia-type | en_US |
