dc.description.abstractThe response of plasimodium falciparum to chloroquine when administered to malaria patients at a dosage of 25 mg base/kg body weight was studied in 104 indigenous case of malaria at Muheza Hospital in north eastern Tanzania.RII AND RIII grades of resistance to chloroquine were observed in 45.2% of all the case.A combination of quinine with sulfadoxine/pyrimethamine finally cleared the mult drug(chloroquine and quinine) resistant parasites.en_US
